CNBC International – Live broadcast, package, digital video

This reporting trip to Helsinki in May 2022 is an example of how I can contribute across multiple platforms, working alongside a reporter and a producer.

Arriving on the Tuesday, we recorded interviews with senior politicians including the Foreign Minister, fed live to the newsroom for embedding in articles, and scouted locations for the next morning’s live hits.

The following day we delivered live hits from outside the Finnish parliament building before filming a package looking at the country’s preparedness for war and civil emergency, featuring a tour of a bunker beneath the capital. We then attended a press conference at the presidential palace with the Finnish President and the UK Prime Minister, before finalising the package and sending it back to the London newsroom.

We concluded the trip on the Thursday by delivering live hits from outside the presidential palace, throwing to the package and sound from the previous day. Our package was also published online.
